Linda Speel lives in Petaluma, CA oringally from San Francisco where she first learned tie-dye and batik in 1969. Working at it on and off since that time in the last few years she has been learning new to her, methods of Ice Dying and using her old method knowledge combining to bring them together in interesting designs of color.
“Leopard” was drawn and stitched around the outside, clumbs of barley were bound, then dyed. Discharge was applied, then re-dyed. the top was folded and tied. Leaves were drawn and discharged, painted in with air brush ink. 20″x36″
“Quilted Heart” was a full queen size bed Ice dyed quilt that was raffled for a nonprofit.
